“Creativity is contagious. Pass it on.” ~ Albert Einstein
Last week I wrote about attending the 30 in 30 challenge for Create96, where 30 artists each created 1 thing within 30 days, revealing our work at the createup. Today I’m sharing some of the masterpieces presented that evening, as well as elaborating on what create96 is all about.
The event brought together a diverse group of adults and children, some trained artist while others were novices like me. All of us without a notion as to what to expect, we shared our creations in varied mediums from woodworking, writing books, songs and screenplays to doll making, paintings and art.

Create96 is a movement to inspire one another, a place to ideate and foster “your “creative genius. Creating doesn’t have to be art at all, it could be inventing a business, a product, a recipe, and most incredibly of all, a life.
So here’s what happened at the Create96 30 in 30 challenge – I met some pretty remarkable people from all walks of life, sharing collectively one goal to inspire each another and reignite our passion while creating something new.
The createup was hosted at The Grove New Haven co-working space in the ninth square. Nestled next to the fun and eclectic Elm City Handmade who was hosting a separate shindig featuring folk music and super scrumptious sweets made by Eric Iannucci of Famous Artist for Hire. The man is truly prolific and I had to share his delicious recipe of Banana Wantons with you!
So go try something new, be it a recipe, stand-up comedy, starting a company, learning a new language or creating one. Whatever you do – have fun, because you never know… you may just create one of the best things in the world.
Banana Wontons

Here’s what you need… a skillet, prep time 20 minutes, cook time 5 minutes, Serves 10
12 Bananas
40 Wonton Wrappers (Twin Marquis Brand)
½ Cup Honey
½ Cup Powdered Confectioners’ Sugar
½ Cup Chocolate Syrup
½ Cup Canola Oil (for sauteing wontons)
1 Stick Butter
Slice Bananas about 1/3 inch thick set aside in a dish. Cut butter into thin slivers to layer with bananas. Take wonton wrapper and place two slices of bananas inside with a sliver of butter atop, wrap wonton by folding each corner over creating a square. Prepare all wontons ahead of time prior to sauteing in pan.

Heat skillet with canola oil on medium heat, add wontons to pan and sauté for about 2 minutes on each side or until a golden brown color has been reached. Remove from pan, placing on a paper towel lined plate to remove excess oil from wontons.

Sift with confectioners’ sugar, covering wontons entirely. Drizzle with honey and chocolate and serve.

Eat at your own risk… these have been known to make people swing from tree’s.
OH my goodness. What fun and what inspiration I bet there was. My husband would love love love something like that. He is an artist. Anyway the recipe looks fantastic.
It was a magical night, and I am so blessed to swim in the same circles with you and Jeff. Thanks for being such a support to me, and all of us lucky enough to benefit from your creative energy.
